You can’t see this in my food diary...but I am Rachelle and I am a chocoholic.

I broke my fast with a Crunchie. Even though I was below my allowed calories, I know it isn’t healthy.

So, I said it out loud. But how to break the habit?

You can try weaning yourself off by moving to dark chocolate (starting sweet and moving up the bitterness scale) and then to the sugar free stuff or the tough way - go cold turkey. Once you stop eating sugar you stop wanting it.

sugar is as addicting as cocaine, so the more you have the more you have. I agree with Well Rounded. ween yourself off and get on the dark choccie bus... it's delicious! I basically work my way through an 85% slab a week with my husband. one block in the evening as a treat. also. check your sugar intake in other foods. yogurts, processed meats, cereals etc all contain the crack lol

I know. Sugar is so bad, I lost more than 10kg long ago by cutting it out. So I am food with no added sugars in my food etc. But chocolate is my weakness. I am thinking of just stopping cold turkey. Today I am doing a 36h fast and hope to keep the momentum. Will leave chocolate for special occasions. I need prayers!!! 😳

I know for some people they can only stop if they go cold turkey and don’t touch the stuff. I’m lucky enough to be able to have a piece and be satisfied so now and again I’ll have 10 grams of dark chocolate. Every morning I have a tablespoon in my oats with almond or pet butter so it’s basically a bowl of healthy delicious energy. And I also get my sugar from berries or tahini and honey now and again. Obviously not everyone can moderate sugar but definitely start by eliminating candy bars cause they have so many processed sugars including palm fat etc which is not healthy or great for your weight loss goals. At least with honey or dark or berries or chocolate you’re keeping it to simple sugars. Try and see what works for you... everyone is different. You’re doing great with IF so that’s a plus and shows a lot of restraint. Good luck!

I’ve weaned of slowly and buy the lindt 75% dark chocolate with raspberry pieces, the raspberry helps add a bit of sweetness to the bitter and Im the same as Shereen, enjoy 1 block in the evening 😁

Hi What app are you using for your fasting?

Hi! I am using Fasten. I think you pay R35 for the year and then you get the full version that will show the phase of ketosis. It’s amazing!
