Had my oldest son for mother's day weekend, it was nice to have him home for a bit :)

He's happy that I finally kicked the smoking habit, and told me "mom you look GREAT!". Hearing your 12 year old say that makes you feel nice :)

Anyways! Went to see Iron Man 3 on friday (hence the junk food... but I couldn't eat much, and skipped dinner so wasn't too terrible!).

Saturday morning my Boyfriend and the boys brought me out to breakfast for an early Mothers day celebration (where I shocked the boyfriend by eating less than him... I USED to eat at LEAST twice as much). I had Four breakfast Sausages, 1/2 of a scrambled egg, and few bites of potato and a fresh fruit cup... and was stuffed.

I had Steak, shrimp and Crab legs on Saturday for dinner (I had the leaner portion of steak from a Ribeye, and the crab and shrimp were done in a boil so no butter required!). For my boil I used a lemon cut into half, an onion cut up into quarters, two ribs of celery, sea salt, 1/3 cup peppercorns and 2 tbsp of Old Bay seasoning and 1 tbsp of Paprika. My cousin (who joined us) was AMAZED at the flavor of the seafood without having to use Butter, and my son now discovered he's a huge seafood fan :)

For dinner yesterday I made spaghetti and Meatballs (1/2 lean beef 1/2 lean pork).

I didn't get much exercise in this weekend, but was reminded to start slower, expecially since I'm not used to much exercise.

So I got off the train about 6 stops back this morning and took at 40 minute power walk along the river (approx 3.5 KM - or 2.17 miles). So peaceful... and ended up getting some beautiful river pictures along with some Canadian Geese families (momma, poppa and LOTS of babies!).

Wiped out about 5 minutes from work due to a cramp in my calf... eep! Now my calf and my knees hurt. So just took an advil and waiting for it to kick in. LOL I'm such a klutz

Lunch update.

I had the coolest experience today. I work downtown Calgary, right on Stephen Avenue - so I'm always in the middle of some neat going-on's etc.

There were two goodies for me today. My first goody was finding out I walking 4.2 mph when exercising. Wow, I had no idea I walked so fast (probably why most people don't like walking with me when I've got my "Determined" pace on... LOL I leave them in my dust). I came across some friends I used to work with and one of them had a pedometer that also measured the speed. Neato! I'm going to get one!

Second, I came across the Downtown Community Garden committee, and they were letting people plant their own seeds to bring home. I picked Peas and planted my own little seedling :) So I have officially started my garden for the year :D
