yesterday went great. i even jumped on the scale today and found a nice surprise...i really think the whole breastmilk thing is weighing me differently each day. if i feed my son before the scale, i drop like 2 pounds almost. weird. who knew women stored that much! i mean, it isnt like with a bottle u can tell how much the baby is drinking, so i never kno... but yeah, down like almost a pound since saturday! the whole water thing is also a problem. if i dont drink AT LEAST my 64 ounces a day, i show it on the scale. i seriously retain. hmm...maybe that plays in to the whole brestfeeding thing too. anyone kno of any websites that i can check out that actually have studied this? thanks! healthy eating to all!!! =0)

the breastmilk is liquid and can have an impact on the scale every day. You might be better off weighing in once a week to better ascertain your overall loss. Hormones, stress levels from caring for the baby could also effect loss. Drink your water, eat healthy and get in exercise and it should keep coming off. You are doing well!

Feeding your son will effect your weight, but not by that much (1/2 a pound would probably be stretching it..although I'll admit that I used to nurse my son right before I got on the scale at a meeting). And of course, you do need a lot of liquid (water) when your body is producing a liquid for another person to consume. Remember, your milk is mostly water! Other than that, I can sympathize with still having a pregnant appetite, but if he's six months, I'm guessing you're starting him on solids soon, if not already, and once he's nursing less, you should be able to reduce your food intake. (Talk to your leader, because you then shouldn't be getting all the extra points of a full-time nursing mom) Hope this post was helpful (and not too long), and remember that low-cal filler-uppers like 0-point soup and raw veggies with fat free italian are your best friend right now! (and if you have your son in a stroller, try switching to a papoose...then every walk you take is also light weight training!)
