Very sick this week. Have a massive infection, lymph nodes swollen so I can only eat liquids, or soft noodles. So far been to 3 doctors. No absences but really swollen can hardly open my jaw.

Zinc lozenges can distribute zinc into the mucous membranes. Once on your membranes, it slows the reproduction of both bacteria and viruses, which gives your immune system a chance to catch up.

I usually suck on a zinc lozenge for 10 minutes at a time and then spit it out to save the rest for an hour later. The “rapidmelts” dissolve too quickly, and zinc doesn’t do as much work in your stomach, as opposed to being in your throat.
Remember to stay hydrated, and if you get mucous-y, guaifenesin (plus excess water) will keep that gunk moving.
Best wishes that you get better soon.
