Yesterday's seafood boil was a smashing success. My wife is hollering at me saying I was "anxious". The last few minutes when you dump crab and shrimp in the pot has to go like clockwork so as to not overcook the seafood! I may have been "b*tchy" and that is ok.

My buddy came over and we had a few beers and I fed him since he is in a hotel until he gets situated. So he reciprocated by taking me to the pub for a few more beers. I had some chips when I came home, and maybe a piece of chicken or three. Hey, its better than ordering McD's or KFC! Anyway, I was in bed by 10 for todays bike ride.

Met partner who has been a no show so much lately, and we did 23 miles or so. I will be fighting hunger today for sure, but I have some healthy options planned. Veggie Flatbread Pizzas for lunch, and Chicken Dinner. Should work out OK.

Wife is skipping all her exercise classes today, thats not my problem, and I dare not discuss that. Funny how we have to work our own programs.

Anyway, just checking in.

I'm glad you enjoyed the day, JP. You sound like you're all set for the day - fight those hungers the smart way! :)

LOl. Your DW sounds like a pip. Good job on the seafood boil. I never heard of such a thing, btw. Sounds healthy though. Great job on the riding. Do you guys stop? My team likes to stop no matter the distance. Makes me nuts. I don't mind stopping for 35-40+. Anything else just makes it a social affair to me.

Heather, We stop only if the ride is over an hour, or, I am severely hungover (only happened once). Usually I like to stop at the 1 hour marks and have a snack or some Gu. We have a nice place by the beach on a "fancy" island we stop at if we use todays course. My partner is a smoker too, odd habit to have with cycling. I hear him coughing behind me sometimes too, like today on the way up the bridge. The seafood boil is also called a frogmore stew down by Savannnah, Ga. It probably is pretty healthy except the sausage, and we used turkey sausage.

Keld, I am trying to fight the good fight today, lots of grazing. I have logged stuff pretty good give or take. It is so very hard when you ride hard, and perhaps had too much fun yesterday.

Your seafood boil was my inspiration for yesterday's dinner. Seafood is one of my all time faves! So happy I'm not allergic! Your boil sounded amazing... did you use corn on the cob or potatoes? The restaurant we went to yesterday does something similar with sausage, crab legs and shrimp. Maybe even a few clams in there. Then corn cobettes and whole new potatoes. DELISH. OK I'll stop the food chat now... Great job on the ride!!

Dani, I used corn and potatoes, that's the way they did it in South Carolina where I learned about it. 1st time I had it it was called frogmore stew down by Hilton Head. Madjak, its on!
