5lbs away from half way to my arbitrarily decided goal weight. I know my goal weight is high. Anything lower just seems daunting to me.

I worked really hard in my late 20s to get in shape and lose weight. I kept stalling at 198. I’m sure it was mental. But my %bodyfat was in the healthy range. I just have a larger frame and carry a lot of muscle. I never really got a chance to work on maintenance before getting pregnant with twins. We did fertility treatments to get pregnant (male factor). The hormones and stress really messed with me losing weight and I was right at 220 when our IVF cycle finally worked. So maybe the goal isn’t arbitrary. It’s just one more mental roadblock. But it’s one for the future.

For now...I’m almost half way there!?!

Your goal weight needs to be what is right for you! My goal has always been just 5 lbs. because anything more than that and I start rebelling and sabotaging myself I started at 301 so my first goal was 296. It was not my ultimate goal, but it was a goal I knew I could achieve without too much effort. My current goal is 165 and I'm going to get there, no matter how long it takes. Then I'll tackle the next 5 lbs, but I can't think that far ahead.
