Hi firstlilmomma...I know what you mean about it not being easy.. It's especially not easy around this time of the year.. I think we all get to a point where we lose hope and want to give up. Stick with your plan even if it takes longer than you expected. It will work. Don't give up..if you're gaining muscle just remember the muscle will help burn calories (fat).. Hang in there and I repeat Do Not Give Up!! Take one day at a time! Dorothy

Yes, Dorothy is right. We all get discouraged. Losing weight isn't an easy thing to do. Unfortunately, it isn't going to come off as easily as it went on lol. Changing your eating habits takes a lot of determination, willpower and conscious effort. I guarantee that if you eat as close to 20g net carbs as you can, eat more fat than protein, get most of your net carbs from green, leafy veggies, and drink lots of water, you'll see a loss in pounds and inches. Exercising along with this is beneficial, too. But, if you're exercising a lot, be sure you eat enough calories so that your body doesn't think you're trying to starve yourself and hold on to whatever you feed it. Also remember, that your muscles will retain some water after working out. If you will keep track of EVERYTHING you eat in your Food Diary, it will help to see where the culprit is if you keep having issues losing.

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. Tracking your food is a good idea. It will give you an idea on how many calories you are taking in each day. You can gain on Atkins if you take in more than your burning off.
