My blood tests came in and my cholesterol is way to high!!!
I have to adjust my food intake, since I do not want to take cholesterol - lowing - drugs.
On the good side, my anemia is way gone ...
Although I acknowledge that this was my primary goal (I have had very bad days with iron supplements, my stomach just wont handle them during the periods that I have a lot of stress), I am a little dissapointed mostly because I now have to endure the people around me stating that I should get out of Atkins and into starch.And they dont even do it politely. Although I have tried to explain (to my mom and DH that is) that I feel much better (less cravings, more energy, better overall) when I eat protein and not carbs, I now have to rethink my fat consumption.
Of all the things that doctors advise to do about cholesterol the only thing that applies to me is stress reduction (I dont smoke, I walk a lot and definately am not overweight).
So, here I put new goals for me:
a) do my research on healthier fat and healthier protein sources
b) start to meditate
c) do my cholesterol check in one month to see if I am on the right track!!!
