Reading some hype about increased grip strength too with something larger to hang on to. Maybe just a bunch of bunk to sell products....

I have the opposite problem, my small girly hands make it difficult to handle heavy weights. The advantage of a thick grip is that it forces you to work your forearms more, the disadvantage it that it saps energy from the other muscles you are trying to work (lifting straps have the same advantage/disadvantage). If you want bigger forearms, wrap something around them. Otherwise I would take advantage of your big hands and handle some heavier weights.

I've never used anything either. I've wanted to try the fat gripz... But prob won't. I have large hands also.

I got to try the fat grips the other night (someone at the gym left them on the curl machine and was ok with me trying them) and they do change the dynamic of the movement. I could seriously feel it in my forearms. It did make the bar easier to grip and kept my fingers from wrapping around. I am not sure if I liked the improved grip enough to buy a set. they are on amazon for $10 - $40.
