vsublzr's Journal, 14 Oct 18

Talk about being a little bummed. I set my first goal on October, 1 to be 215lbs by Thanksgiving (US). Don’t know what I was thinking, but that would have required a 2.5-3.0lbs. loss per week. Not really a reasonable, or responsible, expectation. So I guess I have to adjust my numbers. My new goal will be 225lbs. by Thanksgiving, currently just under 235lbs. This will require an average of 1.66lbs loss per week. This is achievable if I can continue to lose at the rate I have been. It will be close I’m sure, but I’m hopeful.

In a 9 week period (4/2018-6/2018) I went from 210-179 (31 lbs total - 3.4 lbs per week) so it *is* possible. However, more importantly is to 'feel comfortable' with YOUR plan :) I had a 6 year history of failure that needed -drastic measures- If that isn't you, you're right to 'dial it back a bit' :) The speed I lost the weight did not make a difference, because maintaining my weight is based on what I do today not what I did in the past. Good luck!

I have been losing about a pound a week - so I think you are doing great! Since that is working for you I suggest that you keep doing it - something about don't mess with success

It's possible but I thought that your maintenance calories were really low now, Adef? Not sure if it's worth it. Patience. You can average 2-3 per week at first but it will slow and if it doesn't you may be suppressing your long-term metabolism.

No rush - it's not like you're ever going to be 'done'. This is a lifestyle. Do what you can and will do forever.

Since joining this community I’m averaging 1.54lbs/week. Healthy weight loss is 1-2lbs/week. I’d love to shed more, but this is a marathon not a sprint, at least for me. Being able to be consistent and steady is important. Started this journey just shy of 2 months ago, before I discovered this app. Since starting I am averaging 2.035lbs/week. At that rate I’ll hit my goal, but I prefer to use the information on here.

Not really trying to loose these days but I believe if I continue at 1-1.5 per week I’ll get there. Slow and not so steady has been more my history. Doc asked me “ can you maintain this Way of eating?” You might ask yourself that and settle in at your own pace. You’re doing fine!😜😇 Good shedding!
