Woke up this morning, exhausted; but I did wake up. Thank you, Jesus! Spent the day in prison yesterday. Just visiting. I have a friend that has been there for a little over a year - going through the appeal process. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive each way, and we talked for about 5 1/2 hours. He's in a minimum security type facility, so his accommodations are more akin to a college dorm than what you are likely to see on television. I had to be on his approved visitor list. You can't take anything in with you. You can buy from vending machines, but you have to do so with a pre-paid debit card, that you credit with money before you go in, and you have to bring the card back out with you when you leave. I've learned a good deal about the appeals process, since he's been in there. The appeals process does not allow you to introduce new evidence; it's basically just to evaluate whether or not any of your rights were violated, or you were unjudiciously judged (I hope that's a word). You can see where there might be some bias in this process; they are certainly apprehensive about intimating that the lower court or the investigating authorities were inept. They can choose to overturn, dismiss or grant a retrial. Interesting.

Did not run or work out the entire weekend. Gorged myself a couple times, but no permanent damage done. Did some heavy lifting (carrying furniture upstairs), and kept pretty busy. I feel like I did a workout. I knew when I went to bed last night that I wasn't going to get up early enough to run. I needed the rest. Was dragging, as it was, when I got out of bed.

Bought one of those inflatable hot tubs to pacify DW until the Endless Pool is installed. I'm falling behind in my duties and figure it's probably going to take me a month or two to get the pool assembled, wired up, and filled - not to mention rennovating the room it is installed in.

Motion did the little guy in, again!

BTW, I erroneously mentioned a few days ago, that the sequence of a triathlon was run, swim and then bike. Ryan, this is the 2nd time I've been wrong this year. That may have been the original sequence when the triathlon was first introduced in France; but now the sequence is "Swim, bike and then run" - the logic behind it being SAFETY. Apparently, too many people drown when the swim is last, and if the biking is last, they are afraid that a sprint to the finish line will result in a pile-up. FYI.

Oh do I know what you mean about those days when we must be thankful simply for waking up - never thought I'd grow old. How did this happen to us?

I don't know, Buffy, but I'm not going out without a fight. :) Things to do, places to go, people to see, and all that sort of thing. I don't really feel old yet. I think I'll feel old when one day the kids say, "Here Dad, let me get that for you; that's too heavy." That's when I suppose I'll start to feel old. Right now, I still have to take the 'heavy' end when I get my 30'ish neigbors to help me. What's up with that? I guess too much Nintendo time. :) Anyway, all the plumbing still works, and the joints aren't froze up yet. Who could ask for more than that?

I think we will excuse you for not getting up to have a run.... You seems to have been busy and worked some calories off :-)..... Your DW a lucky woman - hot tub !! Bliss

Well, Sazy, I would have to cut the roof off to do that. LOL! I will be putting the hot tub downstairs, and it's quite a job to move it - emptying it, moving it, and filling it again. Someday, we might use it outside though, sometime after we get the endless pool in.

Prison. Oh my. You are a good friend to visit. There is a correctional facility in our city and some of my husband's students have moved to our area to be near their dads on visiting day. The jacuzzi tub must be comforting for your wife. Nice idea. Take care Friend!
