Just getting started...I start my diet offically on Friday 2/8/08. I have a huge goal. But I know that I can do it if I just stick with it. Does anyone have any tips for beginners?

The first 2 weeks are the hardest. It does get easier after that. Make sure you drink your water. That helps tons. If you fall off the wagon (which everyone does once in awhile) just get right back on. Dont order desert just cause you cheated on supper. Best of luck!!!!

I just started my diet yesterday. Are you going to the center or going it alone? I'm going it alone because my center closed. I'm hoping this site will give me the support I so desperately need.

If you follow the LA wight loss-type of eating plan, make sure you eat all of your foods every day. If you eat from the right food groups and drink your water, you'll see good and rapid progress. Also, cook for your whole family the way you are cooking for yourself. It will improve their health, and help keep you on the right path. I didn't join this group until recently, but have actually lost 40 pounds since starting with LA - and, my teenage daughter has lost 20 lbs, my teenage son has lost 10, and we all have more energy, less colds and illness, and feel better all the way around. I even see my kids making better food choices when given the opportunity to make bad choices. You'll do great, I know you will!!

I def. agree with linasmom about if you follow the plan to the tee and eat all of your foods every day, you will see rapid results. It's amazing the difference you'll see on the scale when you stick presicely to the plan versus if you only drink say 40oz of water and only eat one protein a day. HUGE difference. Stick to it and it'll work! Good luck!
